“I like to catch it right at 200 degrees and on it’s way down. I’ve found that a 200-degree sauna at the tail end of a hot fire is way more enjoyable than a 175-degree sauna with a hot, active fire in the stove. Let the fire do its magic before you get in, that way the air temp is high but you don’t feel any radiant heat. I also like to park the sauna right next to a frozen lake so I can go back and forth between hot air and ice water every 15 minutes or so. I learned on a podcast that this tricks your body into dumping the “feel-good” hormones like dopamine, and HGH to repair damaged tissues. I’m no scientist… but I feel great!”
